Common Source is a celebration of two great rivers, the Severn and the Wye.
The show is a journey in Poetry, Music and Photographs
which are blended together into atmospheric audio-visual sequences.
Ben Osborne presents the evening which starts high in the Welsh
hills, at the source of the Severn. Our journey then follows the Severn to the sea before
turning inland up the Wye. The return journey ends where we started as both
rivers rise within a mile of each other on the same hillside. The evening takes you
through some of the most beautiful countryside in Britain and encompasses both the
cultural and natural history of the region.
All poems, music and photographs were specially-commissioned for this show

- Two great rivers
- Powerful, thought-provoking poetry made accessible to a general
audience
- Atmospheric music
- Dramatic and beautiful images
- A spectacular journey through a beautiful part of Britian

Common Source is an audio-visual presentation with a mix of slide,
commentary and slide/sound sequences.
The show is divided into two halves. The first half takes the audience
down the River Severn from Plynlimon to the Bristol Channel. The second half returns to
Plynlimon along the River Wye.
The running time is roughly 70 minutes for the first half and 45 minutes
for the second. I would recommend at least a 15 minute break in the middle.
Ben provides full technical back-up for the show including projection
equipment, 12x9 screen, PA system (suitable for audiences up to 250 people)
and radio microphone. In bigger venues, Ben can link into an in-house PA system, and has
successfully projected the show onto full cinema screens to audiences up to 1000 people.
The show is suitable for ages 12 upwards (it is a more contemplative show
than Freezer and less likely to hold the attention of younger children) and
would work in almost any venue with good blackout - from village hall to large theatre.
